What are empathy stories? We help organizations, government agencies, and social enterprise companies who contribute to social equity move communities to action by providing a platform for community members to speak their experience.
First-person narratives and portraits inspire people to understand your vision, join your solutions, and expand your impact. We respectfully listen and raise up voices in the following categories:
1. Design. Participants share needs + feedback so your team can provide responsive solutions.
2. Inspire. Participants share the impact of your successes together and the meaning in reshaping our systems to build social equity and ecological regeneration.
Series include: listening and portrait sessions; attuned revision process with participants to center choice around their story and voice; and design, editing, and compilation of series.
Who do you work with? We work with government agencies, non-profit organizations, social enterprise companies, municipalities, and foundations working for social equity, economic justice, and ecological restoration.
How do empathy stories benefit my organization? Respectfully hearing the communities you partner with to move toward a culture of thriving for all—we can create first person narratives and portraits that move people. Integrating needs expressed into your designs refines your solutions. Sharing success stories inspires community members, voters, and funders to understand, connect with, get behind, and support your work.
How do I receive the finished product? When the series is complete and the participants have received their stipends from your organization we send the final deliverables digitally.
What methods ensure a quality process and product? We set our project parameters within the Professional Services Agreement. The client obligations include a stipend in gratitude to participants and logistical support for participants in order to mitigate bias towards those who can support their own participation.
We connect with participants to co-create a container for our work together that centers participants’ comfort and consent. We listen, transcribe, consolidate, and edit paticipants’ expressions with empathy and attunement to carefully lift up each individuals’ voice. We photograph with respect. We engage the revision process to check that the content and voice of the final product are comfortable, authentic, and empowering for participants.
