Race is a big problem in Hale County. We worked and then we went our separate ways. We never did anything together, we never had socializing together. Anytime there's a disaster we are there to help one another until we get them up on their feet, then we go back to our separate ways. Death, sickness, storms, floods... I don’t think that should be the time to come together.

We are missing the opportunity to do things together. I think things will change with this generation. It’s going to take us as parents to give them room to communicate with each other, and to let them come together and have good times.

Recreation can play a big part in bringing people together. I imagine a sports complex with swimming pools, tennis courts, and soccer fields. To make things happen I think the youth, the senior citizens, and the adults need to come together or find a common ground to discuss what we need. Ain’t nobody going to spend money here when we are not getting along. We just can’t work together... working together is the main focus for a common goal.
